3 Places to Use Your Logo Right Now
I bet you’ve heard this a million times, but your logo is one of the most important pieces of your brand design. It’s a visual representation of your brand, helping your customers identify your business and remember you!
If your logo is well-designed and easy to read, it can:
help you build strong brand recognition
increase customer/client loyalty
boost your sales (Um, yes please!?)
Think about a brand you know and love. When you’re driving by a billboard and see their logo, you instantly know which brand it is. You’ve got fun branded stickers for your water bottle from them, you recognize them on social media before even reading their new post because you see that familiar logo in their bio, and you get excited when a new email drops in your inbox from them.
If you’re anything like me, you want your clients or customers to experience all of those emotions of familiarity, recognition, and excitement when they see your brand in action. One way to achieve this is by incorporating your logo to promote your business in every area possible.
With that in mind, I want to share 3 places you can use your logo right now. Let’s go!
1. Your website
This might be a ‘duh’ moment, but is your logo prominently displayed on your website? Like, is it the first thing people see?
Too often, I see businesses simply typing out their business name and using THAT as their website header. How… memorable?
Your logo should be front & center on your home page and all other pages – basically it needs to be the first thing your website visitors lay eyes on before they read your site headline. It’s important to make a good first impression! Make sure that your logo is easy to read on both desktop and mobile versions of your website. If your main logo is too detailed for mobile, use your logo’s monogram or symbol version! (You can read more about those here).
2. Social media
Social media is one of the absolute best ways to promote your services or products in this day and age, so your logo definitely needs to be on full display here! You’ll interact with a lot of potential customers here, so your logo should show up clearly in front of them as much as possible. Make sure to include your logo in your profile picture and header image on all of your social media accounts.
You can also use your logo within your actual posts, such as Story graphics, Reels covers, and grid posts. Don’t overdo it, but it does help to have your logo show up consistently to help your audience get familiar with your brand and start to recognize you. We are pursuing memorability!
3. Printed materials
Call me old-fashioned, but printed materials are still relevant today when it comes to marketing your products and services! Printed materials include business cards, brochures, postcards, posters, and flyers. Because people are so tactile, these materials are such a great way to promote your business and get your logo in front of potential customers! Just make sure your logo is high-quality and high-resolution, and extremely readable! (If you can’t read your own logo from several feet away, you may want to think about an update!).
You can also use your logo on promotional merchandise, like pens, mugs, t-shirts, hats, stickers, you name it!
By using your logo in these three places today, you can help to build brand recognition, increase customer loyalty, and boost sales. Remember, it takes time to build these foundational blocks, but over time your business will see an incredible return of investment (ROI) from your consistency and clarity.
BONUS: Here are a few extra tips for using your logo!
Make sure your logo is high-quality and easy to read. Your designer should provide you with high-resolution logos that you can use across a variety of materials!
Use your logo in a consistent way across all of your marketing materials. Try to use the same color consistently, or the same placement.
If you go through a brand refresh, make sure to update all of your logo placements! It can help to make a checklist of all the places your logo appears for your own reference.
Look into protecting your logo from copyright infringement. This isn’t 100% necessary, but if you know that you’ll be using the same logo for years to come and want to make sure that yours is the only one, I recommend getting the copyright taken care of!
I hope these tips were helpful! They will help you make sure your logo is being used effectively to promote your business and become memorable among your audience. Which one are you going to follow today?
